Using AI in a responsible and ethical way
Ideas to improve your English without losing your personal writing style:
1. Write in your native language and translate it with deepl.
Deepl is much better than google translate and stays very close to the original text, you can even select word options if one word doesn't really match your concept.
https://pdx.www.deepl.com/ It is available in many European languages but also Arabic, Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean and Turkish.
It will keep your words most accurately than if ChatGPT creates a sentence structure.
2. Need help with spelling and grammar
I am using Reverso, that has a free computer application also. You can put in your English text and it corrects your grammar and shows you your mistakes without changing your text.
https://www.reverso.net/text-translation
Quillbot does the same but has less free options: https://quillbot.com/
3. Ask ChatGPT to "proofread" your text
Prompt: Point out the grammatical and spelling errors.
Correct spelling and lexical mistakes.
[4. Write A DRAFT with ChatGPT
Prompt: Rewrite this as it has been written by someone who is not a native speaker. or Write in plain English.
Edit what ChatGPT wrote so much that it has a lot of personality, feelings and reflect more your tone if you would be speaking and the initial structure isn't visible anymore.]
And a very important environmental thought:
AI consumes a loooot of energy. Google and Microsoft announced that they are actually having higher Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions now instead of reducing because of expanding their AI. and
An ChatGPT search consumes 10 times more energy than a google search!
So, use ChatGPT to make your life easier where necessary, but also use it with moderation!
